Falling for Switzerland (Literally, at Rhine Falls)
Woke up in Zurich on Day 2 and the air was still
disrespectfully fresh. My puffy flight face was gone (bless Swiss skincare and
good sleep), and I had one goal: chase waterfalls—and yes, do go chasing
them when they’re in Switzerland.
Cue: Rhine Falls – the charm of all waterfalls in
Europe.
Of Trains and Time Travel
Before we get to the fall (no pun intended... okay maybe a
little), can we talk about Swiss trains? Because they are not trains. They are
luxury chariots that glide on time, whisper through valleys, and make your soul
feel tidy.
I hopped onto one bound for Schaffhausen, the town closest
to Rhine Falls. It was like stepping into a moving meditation. Giant windows.
Green pastures. Lakes that look like they’ve been photoshopped. I swear I saw a
unicorn. Might’ve been a well-groomed goat, but let’s not ruin the moment.
Bonus: no one screamed on the phone, no one played loud
reels. Swiss trains aren’t just punctual—they’re polite. It's giving
"train therapy."
Rhine Falls – Nature’s PowerPoint Presentation
The train pulled into Neuhausen, and the walk from the
station to the falls was like strolling through a painting. Trees? Perfect.
Air? Minty. Birds? Harmonized like they had a jazz degree.
We first took the lift to visit the castle, the castle and
lift of dream.
And then I heard it before I saw it—the mighty Rhine
Falls. BOOM. Thunderous, misty, unapologetically dramatic. I stood there,
completely still and numb, one eye on the water and other on the goosebumps all
over. The power, the noise, the way the water just falls like it's been
doing it for centuries without a single day off. Inspiring.
I walked down to the end and as far as I could go to touch
and feel that warmth of flowing water. I’m not saying I cried, but if tears
were mist, then yes, maybe. The waterfall wasn’t just loud—it was loud enough
to shut up your overthinking brain. It was therapy in splash format.
Green, Greener, Greenest
On the way back, took a random detour. No Google Maps. Just
vibes.
The grass was so green it hurt my city eyes. Everything
looked filtered, but it was all real. Just peace and a very curious cat who
followed me for two blocks like we had unresolved history.
Switzerland has this quiet magic. You walk into a random
patch of earth, and it's postcard-perfect. Not even trying. Like, how dare you?
Final Thought of Day 2 – Nature Doesn’t Rush, But It’s Never Late
Day Two reminded me that beauty doesn’t have to shout. It
roars when it wants (hi, Rhine Falls), but most of the time, it’s quiet, green,
and waiting for you to notice.
Tomorrow’s plan? Mountain trains, chocolate museums, and
finding out if I can adopt a cow.
Until then—
Breathe deep, walk slow, and always carry chocolate.
You’re in Switzerland, baby. It’s all good.

Good 👍
