Where Dreams Touch the Sky – Top of Europe
This day was the day. The one we had been waiting for — the day to finally touch the snow-capped Swiss mountains at Jungfraujoch, the so-called Top of Europe.
We started our morning from Interlaken, headed towards Grindelwald, and from there, began the beautiful climb. First, the stunning Eiger Express gondola ride which was smooth, scenic which made us feel like flying over the hills. Then came the magical train journey, winding through tunnels, glaciers, and opening into views that made our jaws drop every other minute. The kind of ride where you're so glued to the window, you forget to blink.
Then came the iconic train ride through the Alps, slowly climbing through tunnels carved inside mountains, stopping briefly at windows overlooking glaciers. It was like watching nature’s private theatre, one scene at a time.
Honestly? The feeling was like we had landed in heaven. The snow, the air, the whole
whitewashed scenery around like the intro of my Kahani
1 where it all begins - the dreamy K-drama (yes, total “Crash Landing On
You” moment — also the spot where my current profile pic was clicked😄).
But Not Everything Was Perfect...
As beautiful as it was, the altitude had its own plans. My partner started feeling uneasy — altitude sickness hit. Dizziness, heavy breathing, and a sudden pause to our excitement. Suddenly the fun paused a bit. But that’s travel, right? Not every moment is picture-perfect. We slowed down, I stayed by his side, helped him around, and made sure we still took in the experience… together.
Still, in between all that, we managed to soak it in — the Ice Palace, the Sphinx Observatory, and the endless snowfields where even watching others have fun felt like joy.
And somehow, the whole thing made
this day even more special — it was raw, real, and unforgettable.
Cold Breeze, Cleansed Soul
The wind up there is no joke. It hits your face, but in a good way. Like a cold splash of life and waking up every inch of you. We stood quietly for a while, just watching the white world stretch beyond what eyes could take in. There was so much to do too — snow tubing, fun park, little hikes, ice palace… and honestly, just watching people around, laughing and playing, was enough to make our hearts warm.
Fun Stuff & Snow Love
Even if we didn’t do everything,
there was plenty around:
- Snow tubing & sledding
- Alpine hikes for the brave
- Lots of cafe's where you can find good music with Swiss hot chocolate
- And lots of smiling strangers in snow gear just
happy to be there.
Honestly, that’s what Jungfraujoch is — not just a location, but a feeling.
On the Way Back – A Pause in Grindelwald
On our way back down, we made a slow stop at Grindelwald village, and OH! what a gem. This little alpine town, nestled between snow-capped peaks, looked like something straight out of a fairytale. Wooden chalets, riverside tiny cafés serving fresh bakes, and that peaceful stillness you only find in mountain towns. Must recommended stop to heal yourself in the arms of mother nature.
We walked around a bit, grabbed some hot Swiss pastries and foundue, and just soaked it all in. Even after the high of Jungfraujoch, Grindelwald had its own charm – the calm, cozy, and warm in its own alpine way. A perfect way to end a snow-heavy day with a slow heart.
Final Thought
This was the kind of day where you don’t just click pictures, you collect feelings. The kind of day where your heart, camera, and soul — all work overtime. From gondolas to snowy kisses on the face, from train tunnels to taking care of your person — Kahani 6 was an emotion, it was about slowing down, feeling alive, caring for each other and letting nature do its magic.
It was cold, dramatic, romantic, and real and just how every good story should be. It reminded me that sometimes your most beautiful memories aren’t the most “perfect” ones, they’re the ones that move you.
In the cold, in the
stillness, with cheeks frozen and heart full — I felt it:
This is why we travel.
💡Travel Tips:
- Take the Eiger Express early — trust me, it’s
peaceful in the morning and plus point you get the seats.
- Checkout the weather in advance before you leave –
if it’s weatherly, you will miss the whitewash mountains – wait for sunny
days
- Altitude is real, so go slow, drink water, and rest
when needed.
- Trust me – eat light and go slow to manage altitude
- Dress in layers — the snow might look pretty but the chill gets serious.
- Book your tickets in advance (during peak season).
